why you cannot stop overeating processed food

Actually, it’s normal to feel like you can’t stop overeating certain types of foods as chips, cookies and ice cream. Processed foods, in particular, are designed to be hyper palatable and irresistible. The food industry has created cheap, easily accessible products that our taste buds and our brains cannot resist. although junk food might be delicious however It’s creating a circle of cravings, guilt, and feeling out-of-control besides poor health. Reasons why you cannot resist junk food and processed choices and strategies to overcome it .
1.Marketing slogans and tricks convince you that processed food is good for you like bright colours , slogans , using celebrities photos , using phrases as take a break ,organic , vegan , gluten free and take a break .
2.Processed food is served in bigger portions and greater volume while healthy options are served in small portions which makes buying unhealthy food a great option
3. A variety of flavors , tastes and textures is served in processed food which makes you want to overeat , while it is harder to overeat healthy food.
4.Multiple flavors at one bite is noticed when you eat a processed option ,its high in sugar , fats , salt , flavors , additives and easy to chew and swallow .

Strategies to control overeating of processed food
1.Notice your chewing, the more its easier to chew the more you eat and vice versa.
2.Change your kitchen choices and shopping . check out are they healthy , processed or manufactured , do you have lots of treats ? this environment is essential for directing what you eat finally .
3.Notice your habits .Are you using food for reasons other than physical hunger? Are there certain triggers in your surroundings that causes you to overeat? Who is with you when you eat ? what time is it ? how are you feeling? What are your thoughts now?
4.Find good habits that make you feel good like working out, calling a friend, praying, getting a massage, reading , walking outside , listening to music or meditating .
5. Make your own list of red , yellow and green food.
...Red light food is the food that does not help your future. They are the foods that you tend to overeat or make you sick.
...Yellow light food are not the best but if you eat too much of them , you will regret it
...Green light food are nutritious and make your body and mind feel good .
6.Eat slowly and mindfully , use real plates , stay away from distraction and eat nutritious food within 20 minutes or more.
7.Be kind to yourself and practice self compassion. Explore your habits and eating patterns with curiosity not criticism.

Conclusion : Although the market ,food industries and surrounding environment are triggering you to overeat more of poor , unhealthy and non beneficial foods , however , you can overcome these challenges and create your own supportive environment .
